Third Term 2024, Second Lesson, 20th of July

Second Saturday of the school term and sticking with our curriculum we did chipping. Neil and I went through the chipping setup endorsing grip, alignment, stance and posture and I then played a demo shot, which much to the delight of the youngsters and their parents, found the bottom of the cup. The youngsters were assigned a bay each and the classes got underway with much enthusiasm

We had quite a few “holes in one” in both classes which were greeted with great excitement from the youngsters and their parents and the winners of the day were Kayla in the first class with Marthinus second and Hamza in the second class with Dasarah second. It must be mentioned the Dasarah beat Yusuf in a play off to take second prize

On Sunday, 21 July, we had 8 1st218 youngsters playing in the SA Kids Golf competition at Kloof Country Club and they did very well. Kirana came 4th in the girls 7 to 8 age group while her sisters Niskaya and Dasarah came 2nd and 3rd in the girls 11 to 12 age group. Anastazia and Carter came 3rd in the girls and boys 7 to 8 age groups with Ethan coming 8th, while Hudson won the boys 5 to 6 age group with Daniyaal 3rd. Well done to all the 1st218ers, we’re very proud of you.

We would also like to wish Carter everything of the very best as he jets off to the USA to compete with 103 boys other in 7 year old age group at the US Kids Golf World Championships. Good luck Carter and Team Ross
